Hard-pulling Redfish and spotted Sea Trout are our most popular resident game, and can be caught year round. In addition to these tasty and fun-to-catch species, we have migrating schools moving through our waters all year.

Spring in Homosassa, brings literally thousands of gag Grouper to our area's numerous rock piles, as well as the shark-like, giant Cobia. These tasty varieties are hard-biting, and provide a pole bending fight that's sure to thrill.

Giant Tarpon reign supreme during May, June and July. One of nature's unexplained mysteries is why these huge beasts migrate to Homosassa, from Costa Rico, and South Africa.

Unlike the smaller Tarpon caught in the southern areas of Florida, our fish are a bigger and smarter variety (though we have plenty of the high-jumping smaller fish too!) The world record for Tarpon was broken this year in Homosassa! Anglers from all over the world are scrambling to Homosassa, to try and beat that world record!

Fly fishing for Tarpon is the ultimate challenge. It is also the most effective way to catch these giants. Don't forget to schedule a trip with me before Tarpon season, to brush up on your fly fishing skills! Remember that I specialize in fly fishing instruction, so now is the time to learn, if you don't know how!

FALL in Homosassa, brings the excitement of Snook, Spanish Mackerel, and Pompano. Throughout the year, there are schools of Sheepshead, Permit, Black Sea Bass, Bluefish and Jack Crevalle (Jacks), as well as the hard-fighting, high-jumping Ladyfish-a cousin to the mighty tarpon. (Plus many more!)
